Definition & Benefits of Sole Leather


The bottom part of a shoe, the part that is intended to come in repeated contact with the ground, is called the sole. Soles have been made from leather (animal-raw hides).


It is a durable and flexible material created via the tanning of putrescible animal rawhide and skin, primarily bull,ox,cow and cattle hide which can be produced through different manufacturing processes.


A strong, heavy leather especially prepared for shoe soles. The hides are taken from the tanning tanks and drums, the spent tan is brushed off, and the hides are laid on a polished stone slab, then dried in a warm/hot place, and beaten with iron or roller press called cylender by machinery.
